Alison McWhirter
City:
Melbourne, Victoria
Loves working with:
I work mostly with women in business like creatives, consultants, and professionals who’ve built their success through experience, not algorithms. Many of my clients are 40+ and have spent years behind the scenes raising families or running companies. They’re now ready to be more visible, but the thought of being in front of the camera still makes them want to bolt!
I love helping them reconnect with the confident, capable version of themselves (the one their clients already see) and capturing that in images that feel natural, elevated, and full of personality.
Photoshoot locations:
Most of my sessions take place around Melbourne in lifestyle homes, modern studios, outdoor spaces, and often my clients’ own workspaces; all chosen to reflect their unique brand vibe. I also work interstate when required, photographing clients in Sydney, Brisbane, and beyond.
I carefully select locations that align with each client’s story, from bright and relaxed to sleek and professional, to capture who they are and how they work, not just what they look like.
Photography style / aesthetic:
My style is relaxed yet refined, professional but never stiff, with clean lines, flattering light, and genuine connection. It’s storytelling meets strategy: a blend of professional and approachable, designed to help clients look confident and relatable at the same time.
I don’t believe in overly posed or “perfect” imagery. Every image is intentionally crafted to help my clients stand out online and feel proud to show up.

Vibe check:
Supportive, relaxed, and a little cheeky. Equal parts direction and pep talk. I’ll guide you every step of the way so you can stop overthinking, loosen up, and actually enjoy being photographed.
Fun fact / hidden talent:
I’ve been a photographer for 15 years, but it took me seven years to book my own branding photos. So trust me, I get the nerves too! That’s why I’m all about creating an experience that feels easy, supportive, and even a little fun.
And my hidden talent? I can pack an entire studio setup into the back of my car like it’s a game of Tetris. A talent every travelling photographer secretly needs.

Julia Nance
City:
Melbourne, Victoria
Loves working with:
I work with a combination of individuals and businesses. My clients strive to showcase their best self, whilst remaining authentic and celebrating their individuality. I love to work with people who aren't afraid to explore multiple stylistic choices. We all have different sides of ourselves, and capturing more than a standard corporate headshot is what I love to do.
Photoshoot locations:
I work in my own studio (eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia). My studio has a range of options from coloured and neutral plain backgrounds, relaxed lifestyle areas, and a beautiful outdoor area with lots of Australian fauna and tree life for outdoor nature images. I also work on-location, including client homes, offices and workplaces, and occasionally hired studios/locations if the client wants a specific look to their location.
Photography style / aesthetic:
As unpopular as it is for those in the arts, I can't say I have a defined single style. I love being able to adapt to what each client hopes to achieve. If I were to sum up my style, it's relaxed and real. Visually, my favourite work is colourful, and I have a tendency to match background colours with outfits or eye colours. I also love rich, classy and deep lighting that has a high-end feel.

Vibe check:
Calm, supportive and reassuring - I'm simply here to help you look and feel your best.
Fun fact / hidden talent:
I like to rescue furniture of rubbish heaps and restore them to their natural beauty (I'm learning, at least).
