Gavin Turek

 

A few years back, my Spotify randomly played a song it thought I might like… so of course it was on repeat for 3 weeks. That song was from Gavin Turek - a modern day Diana Ross - who I immediately followed on Instagram and fan-boyed all of her posts. When she posted to her Stories that she was looking for help updating her new album to her Squarespace website, I slid into her DMs and the rest is history.

 
 

Within 5 minutes of our first Zoom call, I couldn’t help but notice Gavin’s solid sense of self. She knows who she is and creates music from that quiet and profound place. And just like the foundation of a house, there needed to be a structured framework to work within for her online presence.

Everything was there, it just needed to be organised. So we took her logo, color palette, and font pairing and created a custom Squarespace template that could stand the test of time. Five strong pages that lay the ground work for what she does as a singer - Home, Music, Videos, Tour, and Bio.

 
 

Home. A landing page that sets the tone for the entire website experience. Gavin writes and sings the songs but she’s also very visual. That’s why the first impression her website visitor’s get is a snippet of her latest music video playing on repeat. Every time she drops a new single, we easily replace the video snippet to stay up to date.

 
 

Music. All of her songs - all in one place. For every new single or album, we just add the cover art and a linked button. That way, we continue to add to Gavin’s growing discography in chronological order.

 
 

Videos. Website visitors come for the music but stay for the music videos. This is where Gavin truly shines as an artist. Keeping with the chronological order, you can see how she evolves over time with the vision of her music. All packaged together in a minimal wide screen video carousel to keep her music videos center stage.

 
 

Tour. No frills. Just chills for audience members to book their concert tickets ASAP to see Gavin tear up the stage all over the world.

 
 

Bio. To break up her long and impressive bio, I sectioned it out into 3 parts - ping ponging back and forth with her latest images to guide the eyes of the website viewers smoothly down the page.

 
 

Working with Gavin, AKA “Diva Of The People”, and updating her website with her when she premieres new music is always the highlight to my week. We hop on a Zoom call, she fills me in on her latest creative adventures and how she’d like it to look on her website, and I make the quick and easy changes while listening to her newest hits before they’re released.

Once a fan, always a fan.
