So let’s say you enjoy a fun trip through right-brained creativity where you are being wacky and wonderful, singing in the karaoke bar, dancing the night away, drawing masterpieces, shooting awesome pics, moulding sand on the beach into The Little Mermaid, stringing words together into epic poetry, you get my drift.

Then the end of the month comes and rent is due. How do you fix this problem?

You go to work… for someone else and someone else’s dream, doing boring, left-brained stuff.

And it sucks. Like really sucks. But you do it anyway to pay the bills.

And you feel stuck between doing what you love for free and doing what you hate for money.
If only you could make a living from singing in the karaoke bar dancing the night away, drawing masterpieces, shooting awesome pics, moulding sand on the beach into The Little Mermaid, stringing words together into epic poetry, you get my drift.

But here’s the thing that no one tells you about being a full-time freelancing creative person…

The left-brained boring stuff doesn’t go away. The only thing that changes is that you are working for yourself. You are working for your dreams. And not for someone else’s.

That means the more you work for yourself to get those gigs, the more money you are going to make. The more time you will have in your right-brain being creative. The more fun you will have.

But the work still needs to be done. And you do it anyway. It’s your job, after all. Because you’d much rather pay the bills with your art, singing, dancing, acting, performing, writing, designing, and being your own boss, than helping someone else’s dream come to life.

It’s time to stand up for your inner artist.

It’s time to reach out to your dream clients.

It’s time to share your talent with the world.
